We provide full-service web design and development with a custom-built WordPress for service based websites. For eCommerce websites, we build on Shopify or Wordpress + WooCommerce. We build each website from scratch and with love to ensure it’s uniquely yours. That means no pre-made templates to retrofit your custom website. You always own your own website, hosting, and domain.
- Client Homework: This service starts with client homework. Depending on your needs, this may involve handing off branding assets or filling out a visual direction questionnaire.
- Website Planning: We'll get the ball rolling by defining our site architecture (page structure), and any integrations we may need.
- For Website Redesigns: We'll audit your current site's performance, UX, and accessibility to see where we can make improvements in the new build. What's UX?
- Website Design: We'll design 3 desktop designs and 3 mobile designs based on your brand identity.
- Prototype: We'll showcase the designs in a prototyping tool you so can experience how the site will function before we begin development.
- Website Development: We'll build your site on Wordpress for service based business and Shopify for eCommerce businesses. Every site we build is fully responsive and built with performance, UX, and accessibility best practices.
- Staging: We'll set up a staging environment for you to preview your new site and approve before launch.
- Video Tutorial: We want to set you up for success so we'll send you a video tutorial on how to use your new site, how to update content, and how to get in touch if you need support after launch.

Submit an Inquiry
If you're interested in working together on your project, please fill out the inquiry form on the contact page. If we think it's a good fit, we'll send over a link for you to schedule an initial call so I can go over our process as well as answer any questions you may have.
After we've had our initial chat to better understand goals and processes, we'll send over a tailored estimate for your review. We'll also send you a project timeline to give you a birds eye view into the proposed schedule of your project.
If the stars align, we'll begin onboarding you as a new client! Well send over a contract through our CRM, Honeybook for you to review and sign. Along with the contract we'll send over an invoice for your projects first payment. We'll also get you set up with with Notion, our project management system.
Your first assignment! Depending on your needs, this may involve handing off branding assets or filling out a visual direction questionnaire.
We'll create a shared collaborative document on Notion where we can go through the all of your desired website needs, functionality, architecture and integrations. Here is where we'll plan the core layout of your pages.
We'll get started on designing the perfect website. This will typically consist of 3 desktop designs (homepage, content page, product page etc) and 3 mobile designs of the same chosen pages. We'll then create a functional prototype so you can navigate around the design just like a real website and get an idea of how the site will function when live.
For redesigns, we'll start by backing up any existing data. We build all sites locally, so this means your current site can stay live while we're building the new one. We'll migrate all your original content over to your new website and update any new or additional copy. We'll setup any necessary 301 redirects from your old pages to the new pages.
If you've already purchased a domain, we can set up a custom coming soon page with newsletter capture or social links to generate awareness while in the process of development. We'll then continue the web build locally, and set up a staging environment when it's ready for review.
All sites are built fully responsive, mobile friendly, ADA Compliant to WCAG Level AA, performance optimized for page speed, and with UX best practices in mind (Did you know I'm a certified UX designer?)
Once we're done with development, we'll set up a staging area for you to view your new live website. This is the time where we'll also help configure your hosting and email.
We're ready to launch! These final steps may include pointing your domain, or simply switching your site to live. We include a week of support post launch in case you need help getting acquainted with your new website. We also provide a prerecorded video walk through on how to use your new site that you can refer back to whenever you'd like.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! For the Brand Identity service we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This secures your spot for the next available start date. The remaining 50% is due upon project completion.
For the Website Design & Development service, we ask for a 33% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This secures your spot for the next available start date. The remaining payments are due at the end of the design phase, and at the end of the development phase.
When booking both the Branding Identity service and the Website Design & Development service, we bundle this at a discounted rate. We ask for a 25% deposit at the time of booking. This secures your spot for the next available start date. The remaining payments are split evenly over the course of your project.
What is the investment for my project?
Each client and project is unique, so we custom quote every single project to accommodate each clients individual needs. Your project estimate will be very transparent about pricing and any additional billable hours that may be needed. Most single service projects fall into the $3-8k range while projects with multiple services fall between $9-12k.
What platforms do you use for website development?
WordPress is our go to platform of choice due to it's versatility and flexibility. For E-Commerce websites, we build on Shopify or Wordpress + WooCommerce.
When can we start?
To get started, please submit an inquiry through our contact page. We'll review your inquiry and reach out to you if we think it's a good fit and give you an estimate on when we think we'll be able to start working together. If the timeline works for you, we'll send over an estimate. We can get started when the first deposit payment is made.
What do you need before we get started?
Depending on the project, we'll assign you some homework. This can include completing a brand questionnaire, creating a Pinterest inspiration board, granting me access to hosting or domain accounts, and/or gathering copy for your web pages.
How long will it take?
Project timeline estimates are listed on each service page. Depending on the service, this can be anywhere from 4 weeks to 14 weeks. Project timelines are also dependant on prompt client homework delivery and feedback.
Who will I be working with?
For the services offered at Loba Design Studio, you'll be working with just me, Mel. I'll be your main point of contact and be the sole creative working on your project from day one. For other services such as copywriting and marketing, I've established relationships with some great people over the years. Feel free to reach out for references if you are seeking additional services outside of what Loba Design Studio offers.
Is anything not included in your pricing?
Certain desktop & web font licenses, website hosting, domain purchase fees, and third-party plugins are not included in my pricing. Not all projects will wind up incurring these additional costs, and we'll always be up front and transparent about any additional license costs.
I just need a logo, is that possible?
We take a holistic approach to branding, which means we don't create one off logos. Our Brand Identity Design service is a cohesive visual package that is paired with logo variations, typography, color palettes, and other visual elements to help tell your brands full story.
What if I already a logo but need a website?
If you have a full brand identity complete with brand guidelines, we are happy to design and build your custom website. However if you only have a logo, and maybe some loose branding, we will add a visual direction phase to your web design project. This will create a solid foundation for the design of your new website without going through the full Brand Identity process, however the visual direction will only include color palettes and typography choices.
How will we communicate during the project?
Communication will be handled in a few different ways. We use Notion for project management and that's where you'll be assigned client homework and can see a high level overview of tasks related to your project. We use Honeybook to send contracts and approvals, Figma for prototype review, and Zoom for calls.
How much does hosting cost?
There are many different hosting providers out there with various costs. The great thing about Wordpress is that it's free out of the box, but you will need to purchase hosting for your site. For Wordpress Hosting we recommend Flywheel or WP Engine. If you're looking for a more eco friendly option, we love Kualo (it's what we host with!).
Do you offer discounts?
Yes! When booking multiple services, we bundle them at a discounted price.
